Glenrothes are known for their unique approach to bottling, preferring to bottle their whiskies as vintages rather than as age-statements. The Reserve Collection makes an exception to this though, where the Vintage Reserve is bottled from an array of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks spanning almost twenty years.

Appearance: Deep bronze.
Nose: Lemon peel, honey and nutty notes.
Taste: Creamy vanilla custard, candied orange and toasted walnuts.
Finish: Allspice and nutmeg into fresh cherries and honey.
Overall: A typically bright and fruity Speyside malt with rich floral notes.

The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve is an excellent choice if you want an overview of the distillery without going through and trying multiple vintages.

If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Glenrothes Vintage Reserve, you could also try Glenfarclas 10, Cragganmore 12 or Old Pulteney 12.

Because of the age range of whiskies that make up the vintage reserve it stands out from most blends. A great way to see how young whisky and whisky work together.

The Glenrothes used to differentiate themselves by releasing whisky Vintages every year, but have now chosen to produce a range of age statement whiskies.
