This vintage from the distillery was bottled in 2009 making it 11 years old. The team at Glenrothes don’t release each vintage willy-nilly, they wait for the whisky to reach perfection so that their customers get the best expression of each year.

Appearance: Radiant gold.
Nose: Vanilla, fresh citrus and buttery toast notes.
Taste: Fresh rose apples and pears with warm honey.
Finish: Warming, earthy spice notes leading to brown sugar.
Overall: Reminiscent of a warm summer’s afternoon in an orchard.

The Glenrothes vintage releases are a really fun and interesting way to approach whisky. Trying different years beside each other can be a little bit more stimulating than just looking at different age statements. Get the Glenrothes 1998 for anyone that loves hosting whisky tastings for their friends.

Glenrothes Distillery.

The Glenrothes distillery is located in Rothes in Speyside Scotland. The whiskeys produced here are to be blended for brands like Cutty Sark and the Famous Grouse. The Glenrothes used to differentiate themselves by releasing whisky vintages every year, but have now chosen to produce a range of age statement whiskies.
