Description
FULL DESCRIPTION
Produced by the Midleton Distillery, Redbreast 15 is made from a combination of both malted and un-malted barley. This makes Redbreast unique in that no grain whisky is added. The whiskey is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV, giving its mellow oak-led profile a little bit of bite in the finish.

Connoisseur
Irish whiskey was once the most popular spirit in the world and has been massively on the rise in popularity in recent years. Ireland and Scotland both lay claim to being whisky’s original creator but it’s likely both nations developed a similar product at around the same time. The knowledge of distillation is commonly thought to have been brought to Ireland (and Scotland) by monks returning from the Mediterranean and the Middle East in around 1000AD.

ABOUT THE DISTILLERY
Midleton is widely acknowledged as Irish whiskey’s spiritual home. In 1966, John Jameson, Powers, and the Cork Distillery Company formed Irish Distillers and in a bid to make sure their future was tenable, closed all their existing distilleries and merged into one site in Midleton, Cork. This was the only site big enough for expansion. Midleton is now one of the largest and most modern distilleries in the world boasting three 75,000 litre pot stills.
