Description

FULL DESCRIPTION
Glenfarclas mature their malts in traditional dunnage warehouses, where they have stock dating back to 1952. In true Speyside style, their whisky is heavily influenced by the use of ex-sherry cask maturation. The 10-year-old is a light and sweet dram that finishes on notes of spicy Christmas cake.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Bright gold.
Nose: Woody oak, vanilla with stewed red fruit.
Taste: Oily candied orange peel and raisins leading to warming cinnamon.
Finish: Fruitcake and Christmas spice.
Overall: Big well defined full flavours for such a young bottling.

Connoisseur

Scotch whisky is a very broad category consisting of various styles, regions and production methods. It is unclear whether Ireland or Scotland was the first to produce whisky but it is likely that the practice became common in both countries concurrently. It is commonly thought that the knowledge of distillation was brought to Scotland (and Ireland) by monks returning from the Mediterranean and the Middle East in around 1000AD.
