Description

FULL DESCRIPTION
Uncharacteristically unpeated, this expression from the distillery shows a smoother side to Islay. Originally crafted by now retired Head Distiller, Jim McEwan, The Classic Laddie was put together to highlight the distilleries elegant and floral notes.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Sunkissed barley.
Nose: Wildflowers, nutty barley like toasted muesli.
Taste: Honey, ripe apricots with sweet malt.
Finish: Slight spice and tannic oak notes with a creamy mouth-feel.
Overall: Reminiscent of camping by the sea during the summertime, a freshly floral malt.

Gift

The Classic Laddie has transitioned from an alternative Islay malt to one of the islands more iconic bottlings. The striking baby blue bottle makes for a memorable gift option.

Bruichladdich Distillery

ABOUT THE DISTILLERY
Originally built in 1881 by three brothers, Bruichladdich would have been a modern distillery in comparison to the other farm distilleries on Islay. Bought by a group of private investors in 2000, the distillery was dismantled and rebuilt but retailed all the original victorian decor and machinery. There are no computers used for production and measurement is made by hand. The distillery was bought by Remy Cointreau in 2012. Terroir and provenance are at the forefront of BruichladdichŐs ethos, often feature the fields and farmers on the packaging. Traceability is paramount.

ABOUT THE LIQUID
Bruichladdich’s unpeated expression, The Classic Laddie is made with 100% Scottish barley and has become the distilleries signature bottling.

INGREDIENTS
Water, Malted Barley, Yeast.
