100% Rye grain spirit re-distilled with a small amount of rye malt to add a sweet, creamy mouth-feel. This compliments the hint of spice attributed to the base spirit. Smooth and rich, WRY Vodka’s flavour is the result of a unique, painstaking process. Using pure rye spirit, a bespoke distilling process, and a slow filtration through traditional local charcoal, the heart of WRY is clean, smooth, pure vodka. Layered onto this purity are subtle notes of grain, along with a hint of malty sweetness.

WRY began with research around the local wood selection and found Horn-Beam to be the densest. It grows naturally on the Albury Estate in the Surrey Hills. Based in the Clandon Woods, just the other side of the hill to the Silent Pool distillery, local woodsman John Sinclair uses traditional charcoal making techniques to convert the wood over the course of three days. The hornbeam is converted into a dense charcoal with a large surface area. After distilling & diluting, the spirit is slowly trickled through a deep bed of charcoal, filtering out any impurities.

ABOUT THE DISTILLERY
On the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate, a group of dilapidated farm buildings on the banks of the legendary Silent Pool has been transformed to become the home of the Silent Pool Distillers. In keeping with the original vision for a sustainable business, a vintage wood-fired steam boiler was restored to power the hand-built copper still, created for Silent Pool Distillers by the Arnold Holstein Company in the Lake Constance area of Germany. The distillery was completed in 2015 with the arrival of the bespoke stainless steel tanking, sourced from the Vipara Valley in Slovenia, tanking designed to hold both the spirit and the crystal clear water used to make delicious spirits.
