Coming from a smaller, hidden away distillery in Speyside, the 12-year-old is the only commercial single malt bottling produced there.
TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Rich honey.
Nose: Bright citrus, floral honey and vanilla.
Taste: Toasted muesli and nuts with sweet caramel.
Finish: Oak and wood are followed by soft smoke.
Overall: Smoky without the harshness of peat, sweet and vibrant malt.
Gift
Cragganmore is the usually overlooked member of Diageo’s single malt family, but that’s all the more reason to try it. This whisky often surprises people and has, therefore, become a bit of a cult classic. Getting this malt for any whisky fan will not be met with disappointment.
RECOMMENDATIONS
If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Cragganmore 12 you could also try Dalwhinnie 15, Highland Park 12 or Glenfarclas 15.
Connoisseur
A lot of the production from this distillery making being used for Diageo’s extensive range of blended scotch. Despite this, the Cragganmore 12 is wildly popular and has become a highly regarded Speyside malt.

ABOUT THE DISTILLERY
The site of the distillery in Ballindalloch, Banffshire, was chosen in 1869 to be close to Cragganburn for the water, and near the railway station for transport. Most of the production here is destined for blends.
