FULL DESCRIPTION
Brockmans’ unique recipe of naturally grown aromatic botanicals is steeped in pure grain spirit for many hours to release their natural oils and aromas. The more traditional notes of gin are combined with a refreshing influence of citrus and aromatic wild berries, commonplace throughout the English countryside. Slowly distilled in 100-year-old traditional copper pot stills, only the heart of the distillation is taken. The distinctive Gin notes derived from Brockmans’ unique recipe deliver an exquisite and intensely smooth Gin.

Gift

Brockmans tends to be a gateway brand for many newcomers to the gin category. Definitely a crowd pleaser, having a bottle of Brockmans on hand is always a good shout.

Connoisseur

Brockmans have deliberately spent time making sure their gin is smooth enough to appreciate neat or over ice making it the perfect spirit lovers gin.

Alcoholic spirits originally found their place as a “cure all’ in medieval Europe. Gin was the next step, incorporating the medical benefits held in plants. Various botanical elements were thought to have different health giving properties most notably in the case of gin, juniper. When mixed with spiritus alcohol a rudimentary medicine was formed and became popular all over the continent.

In the early days of distillation it was only the highly educated that knew the key to the production of the “water of life” and thus the skill moved predominantly with learned monks and healers.

Gin took hold particularly in the Netherlands where it was called Genever, which is the Dutch word for juniper. This is where we get the name as jenever was eventually anglicised to gin. Holland was one of the predominant players in the early spice trade so it wasn’t a big leap to start experimenting with herbology and distillation out of which gin was born.
