THE DROP DATE X SAUVELLE VODKA - CLASSICS WITH CLASSICS
The week starting 3rd October saw the decadent Sauvelle Vodka brand team up with our friends and trainer connoisseurs, The Drop Date, for a series of cocktail classes and exhibitions held here at TT Liquor.
Dedicated to perfectly pairing limited edition trainers to bespoke beverages, those looking for the best trainer and drinks combination needed look no further.
The week saw a series of insightful talks which covered everything from highballs to hi-tops, as well as iconic trainer and vodka cocktail classes conducted by seasoned industry experts.
Guests were treated to a top of the range trainer and complimentary cocktail creation each day.
“We wanted to keep it simple,” said Ryan Barr, founder at The Drop Date, “so we went with shoes that are instantly recognisable, to match up with instantly recognisable cocktails.”
From rare original releases to coveted collaborations, the team at The Drop Date carefully picked shoes that broke new ground in terms of materials, colour combinations and technology, all designed and created with the same flair and attention to detail as the best beverages.
Speaking of beverages, every night there was also a hidden bar which offered a range of twisted classics, created using the French artisan spirit, from 5pm until 11pm every night.
“The idea was to link classic trainers from different eras with classic cocktails,” explains Sauvelle’s Chris Amey, “but to add a sneaky twist to the drink that captures the spirit of that shoe.”
“Take the Air Max 90 Neon,” he says, “It’s one of the most versatile trainers ever made. It comes in every colour, different fabrics, and so on. You can have it made up how you want it. It’s the same with a Martini.”
