Description

FULL DESCRIPTION
Established back in 1798, the Tobermory Distillery currently produces two ranges of single malt Scotch. The Ledaig is their heavily peated range, while everything bottled under the Tobermory label is made from unpeated malt. The 10-year-old sets the tone for the range with its fresh and delicate character.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Pale lemon.
Nose: Toasted Muesli, grains, stone fruit and a hint of smoke.
Taste: Seaweed, spicy gingerbread and hints of citrus.
Finish: Dry woody notes with hints of salt and ginger.
Overall: A charming young whisky of delicate malt notes accompanied by light fruits, and maritime spice.

Gift

The Tobermory 10 is an excellent gift for anyone that enjoys a more delicate subtle malt. In contrast to the Ledaig from the same distillery, it is much lighter in character making it very approachable.

RECOMMENDATIONS
If the person you’re buying for is a fan of the Tobermory 10 you could also try Jura 10, Glenkinchie 12 or Springbank 10.

Connoisseur

Although this 10 year old is marketed as the unpeated variant of this release, the malt is still peated to 2 ppm. This, according to the distillery, coupled with the water which they claim to have run through peat gives the whisky a subtle smokey flavour.
