FULL DESCRIPTION
With possibly the lowest peating levels possible, 1-2ppm, a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry casks are used to age the 18-year-old. Warming and rich, this malt shows you a completely different side to Islay.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Rich mahogany.
Nose: Christmas spices, dried fruits and roasted walnuts.
Taste: Salted toffee, raisins and dried red fruit.
Finish: leathery wine tannins, oak and white pepper.
Overall: It’s almost as if you’re drinking a Speyside malt and the person next you is drinking an Islay, only the faintest hint of peat.

Founded in 1881 near Port Askaig on Islay. Bunnahabhain is known for making a milder malt in comparison to the rest of Islay.
