Raquel Martins
On Tuesday TT Live Sessions played host to the wonderful and talented Raquel Martins who with the help of a couple of guitars and a bit of reverb, performed an incredible solo live set.
The space was awash with sound and Raquel made it feel effortless with
enchanting vocal harmonies sitting perfectly above the guitar. It was hard to believe such a wide range of sounds were all coming from just one artist. Shout out to our new soundman Lucas who’s added a new edge to the sound production of TT Live Sessions.
Starting with Mountain and Empty Flower – the title track from Raquel Martins’ new EP – the intimate and relaxed vibe of the TT Live Session and stripped back nature of the performance gave a new perspective to songs originally written to be played by a band, and discovering the range of different emotions this fresh sound conveyed was a noticeably enjoyable process for the artist.

Raquel took the time to introduce each track and urged the audience to “Be happy! Don’t long for happiness but actually be happy in the moment. Be free with art and who you are.” Martins has an indescribable stage presence that is at once enthralling and mystifying, she is truly a rising star.
She continued the set with Freedom from 2021s The Way EP followed by two new songs yet to be heard by anyone, even her manager who was present on the night.
The intro to Fragile Eyes really broke down the meaning behind the song which has been a firm TT Liquor favourite and recent feature of our playlists. Raquel went on to talk about important issues like her housemate’s laundry, showing us that even the smallest inspirations can produce amazing songs.
Make sure you check out Raquel Martins’ music and look out for more opportunities to see her live, whether with a band or solo, any glimpse is worth it. Martins is a true artist destined to do something very special with their art and her performance exemplified the idea that TT Live Sessions are creating a space where artists can take a chance and show new ideas, setups and arrangements.

Our music philosophy, in one word, is “SOULFUL.” It’s a journey through Disco, Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk and everything in between coming in two forms; intimate, stripped-back live sessions, featuring new performers on the first Tuesday of every month, and resident DJs and guest headliners taking care of the soundtrack throughout the building the rest of the time.
All our music programming is curated by head of music Chris P Cuts.
