This built drink sees the long-awaited return of tequila to our masterclass menu. This traditionally underrated spirit is seeing a slow but steady incline in popularity as drinkers’ knowledge and adventurousness grows over time. Sadly though, tequila is still seen by many as something to simply do shots of with salt & lemon.

History
Our smash ambitiously aims to change Tequila’s rather dated public image by combining good quality tequila with some of its best flavour companions; the sweet creamy fruitiness of pineapple, the sharp citrusy tang of fresh lime and the spice and warmth of fresh chilli. Together these ingredients make for a drink that is both balanced and moreish and that lets the smooth complexity of the tequila shine through.
The julep style serve and method mean that this smash is easy to make at home and always guaranteed to be cold and refreshing. This zingy thirst-quencher has enough freshness to stand up to the dry heat of the Mexican desert as well as it does the heady humidity of a packed East London dive bar. And with its irresistible flavour, the Pineapple Picante Smash may even convert a few tequila sceptics along the way.
