Léon: The Professional Industry Screening

At the start of July, TT Cinema will be turning on the stylish thrills with a special screening of Luc Besson’s action-packed nail-biting masterpiece.

The film stars Gary Oldman as a ruthless and corrupt DEA agent, Jean Reno as a grizzled assassin and a fresh-faced Natalie Portman as Mathilda – who becomes Reno’s unlikely protege after her parents are dubiously gunned down by Oldman.

It follows these three protagonists on a gritty journey through the underbelly of 90s New York, as Mathilda attempts to wreak her revenge on the man who murdered her family – all the while learning the art of murder from her imperfect mentor, Léon.

Leon: The Professional’s influence can be felt in a number of action films that have followed it, but none have replicated its atmosphere of terror and play, melodrama and mundanity quite so well.

FORMAT: 

Arrival – Attendees will arrive through the doors of our liquor store at 7pm and purchase any beer, wine, or other refreshments they like. Afterwards, guest can make their way down into our Cellar Bar to receive their complimentary cocktail for the night.

Screening – Then, guests will be invited upstairs to our new 52-seater cinema room, where there’ll be a screening of a cult classic after a small period allotted for short trailers.

Afters – After the show, attendees will be invited back down to the Cellar Bar, where you can drink, discuss, and continue your evening. Reservations may be required.
